Elves

Earthen Elves

Earthen Elves are Elves that are very much in touch with Gaia. They find Gaia to be the center of the world and that she is to be respected by giving the love, attention and respect she deserves. Earthen Elves are an elite class of hunters that use everything that comes out of their hunt. From food, to clothing and shelter, to feeding their elderly who cannot hunt anymore, they hunt for need and not out of want. They have been called the “recyclers” of the astral as if they do not have to hunt, they wont. They do not hunt to be wasteful nor do they hunt in abundance, just out of what is needed for that day. they recycle other spirits hunting, by going to markets near their home forest and buying the “remainder” of the hunt. The Earthen Elves are a fairly strong willed species that tend to push their limits so they can surpass them. When they “limit break”, they do push themselves to new heights but make sure that it is only done out of need and not out of pleasure. They do this to make themselves better people all around by making them see the way they are limiting themselves and grow from that.
If they can push those limits, they know they can do anything. Earthen Elves tend to live very close to places with dense forestry so they can be close to nature. But have found that places with less forestry they can still thrive and use it as an opportunity to add more greenery to the world around them. They use places like this as an unspoken rule that they can begin to plant more shrubbery and advance themselves as they watch and help the world become a lusher and more beautiful place. While they are close to Gaia and all of her teachings they do not have issue if those around them are not as close to her as they are. They simply ask that you hear them out when they have some concerns about things. Earthen Elves have a “mark” that they place upon those they trust and care for, it is not something that should be taken lightly, if they offer to mark you, you are bonded to them for life, unless you both ask to have the mark removed by Gaia. This mark is just to show other Earthen Elves that you are protected by one of them and that you are someone that can be trusted. The mark is only visible to the Elf that marked, the companion and other Earthen Elves and is nothing that hurts. Only when an elf feels that comfortable with you to form that bond will it ever come up. If it does not, do not be offended, they pick those they mark with a lot of confidence that it will not backfire on them.

High Ice Elves & Ice Owls

High Ice Elves from this particular tribe are from a section in the astral that is called the Perma. The Perma is a place that is very frozen over where few species tend to go live in. The High Ice Elves have developed over the time they have been around to not only withstand the cold temperatures but to thrive in them. while they are not usually ones to leave the Perma, as they do not work well in warmer climates. The High Ice Elves have learned how to adjust their body temperatures so they can leave the Perma and not harm themselves. Few leave the Perma and normally live closer to the outskirts of the Perma and only change their temperatures to go to nearby villages. The High Ice Elves are ones of scholarship or of fine arts. They love to work with the artisans that challenge the mind and help their species grow as they need. While they have other species that live in the Perma, Ice Owls tend to be the species that work closer with the High Ice Elves. The Ice Owls are used as familiars with the High Ice Elf they are bonded to. With this, they tend to be the greatest of allies to the High Ice Elves and help with normal day to day activities as well as hunting and surviving when they’re away from their home or the Perma. The High Ice Elves have developed a long standing quid pro quo with the Ice Owls and they also take care of all of the Ice Owls that are round. But the union between the two species has been that of generations and it is widely accepted with the community that when something happens to the High Ice Elf or the Ice Owl that the other will not take another bound partner and will instead learn to live without their opposite. Those Ice Owls that lose their partner will stay around the town and hang out high on the buildings and turn more into a community helper opposed to the only one; they can also be found close to their fallen High Ice Elves burial site and protect them after they are gone. If a High Ice Elf loses their Ice Owl, they bury them and bring their favorite things daily to the site. They help feed the Ice Owls that are “community helpers” and make sure they are taking care of themselves but they will not form the bond with them. When the other passes they are buried with their other half and are reunited in the next world as the High Ice Elves believe. They are loyal to the very end and make sure that they all are able to pass together and be with each other after. While they do not share the reason for their belief, they do share that it is one of their most sacred belief that they have and it is one that not even the Highest or Lowest of the High Ice Elves would ignore.

Rolinnë (Ro-lin-e)

Rolinnë are woodland spirits, closely related to woodland elves that are closely bonded to giant avians. This ranges from a variety of different avian creatures but are normally a type of bird or bird of prey. Rolinnë are considered rather “stuffy” and tend to question a lot of different things as they find that is the only way to understand the world around them. Rolinnë are the first ones to ask the question “can it be tamed?” because their minds work closer with spirits that can be tamed and trained to do things. While this is more related when it comes to animal spirits, they have been known to get in trouble from time to time for questioning this of shifters and animal spirits who are against this “taming”. The avians that they work with are very intelligent birds but enjoy being closer bonded and “tamed” into being helpful to everyone around. Rolinnë develop the bond with their Avian counterparts from a younger age and they are used for different things, from helping with defensive needs to smaller tasks like babysitting younger Rolinnë. While there are two parts to the Rolinnë, the tamers and the takers, they are treated rather similar as the takers are those that take already tamed avian and put them to whatever task is needed. Takers tend not to have the ability to tame avians as well and so they normally take the avians off the hands of the tamers in order to be sure that the tamers are not over cumbered by the avians that tend to hatch in smaller cycles to normal birds of the astral around them. When the tamers find “the one” bird, they take on that bird as their own friend. They bond to each other like no other pair, and while the tamer can still tame other birds, there is no replacement for this bonded bird unless death occurs. Their bonds are similar to that of a faithful spouse, they are not torn apart easily in the quick panic. Those Rolinnë that lose their birds early or wish to save the avian counterparts severe that tie to all other avians. They lose their ability to tame avians and tend to leave the tribe feeling as though they have failed them. The avian has been known to be able to stay close to other Rolinnë but are found to lack normal bonding’s, and begin to be taken care of by older Rolinnë. These Rolinnë are retired tamers who either never attached to an avian or have long since finished taming avians. Rolinnë have a rather blunt attitude and way of speaking; they find it easier to speak when there is no way of reading the situation differently. Bluntness is their best policy and need to be told that they are in need of thinking about their words more carefully.

Were-Elves

Were-Elves are a species of Elves that long ago made a pact with Werewolves for protection and security. When the pact was formed, they had a princess from one side as well as a prince from the other marry and seal the pact. After the pact was sealed, the werewolves began a ceremony that merged the blood of the were wolves with the Elves blood. The werewolves took care of the elves as they went through their transformation. They taught them to hunt and how to survive like they did. Long after the pact was made between them, the two different societies became one easier and both began to fully benefit from the company of each other. Not Were-Elves are very skilled protectors that normally use their skills in protection to be hired as bodyguards. In doing so they ensure a good amount of wealth is brought into the Pack and use it to help enrich those in less fortunate places in their society. Were-Elves tend to be very analytical and watch all activity that is around them. Being hyper vigilant helps them be able to blend into the shadows of the world around them. Though they do have a set day a month that they do naturally just transform, which is right around the sixth or seventh of each month, they can also control this ability in their normal day to day lives. The reason that they change on the sixth or seventh is because it is about the time the Pact was made and so it is the one day that their bodies are fully able to transform with the mindset being only “werewolf”. They are not crazed on these days and normally spend it just running to their hearts content. It is when their senses are very fine tuned, and they can just naturally be a wolf. If they are not running, they are normally home resting or enjoying activities that they can only do in their wolf form. They are far more protective then normal on these days, but it is just added protection. They are not malicious or mean unless you are trying to hurt their family. Were-Elves have a loyalty to their companions and those that they deem part of their Pack. It is honor that is brought forth to them to keep their family safe and sound and that is heavily reliant on their Pact made with the Werewolves.
