Alignment Explanation | Art Alignment
It can be confusing when you do not understand how alignments work and who would be good for your family. While this is just a quick reference for those who are not sure it can help guide you in adoption.
White Alignment:
- Are those who tend to be selfless in nature (and practice if a witch; those who do no harm and use beneficiary magic)
Gray Alignment:
- Is a neutral art, they either choose to do magic neither beneficiary or selfish OR do both to keep their actions balanced.
Black/Dark Alignment:
- Are those with opposite morals to the white arts (those who will be selfish and/or malicious in their actions; this tends to be a lot of demons, though not only demons)
With each alignment, comes misconceptions and things of that nature. We would like to take this opportunity to do a little debunking. While we know that through mythology and biblical stand points demons are "evil" and angels are "perfect", this is a misconception that people need to learn is not true. Yes, some demons can be evil, in the same respect, some angels can be evil as well. This is their alignment. What they choose to do, or not to do, is a moral calculation and that will align us closer to the white alignment or dark/black alignment. While there are angels that have never harmed a soul, there are demons who can say that same thing. The conception of good or evil is not what is at play here, it is where they choose to align themselves when it comes to their morals.
You can have any number of those spirits mixed together, in your family, it is who you choose to align yourself with. While some families will be mixed with a variety of spirits, there are those that might only have one alignment in their family. Having spirits of a darker alignment does not make you "dark or evil", but instead shows that you can align yourself with those that might not have the same morals as you do. Normally, darker spirits require additional rules as they might believe they are doing something helpful, but might be something against your morals. This, should be, a welcomed conversation between yourself and your companion(s). Just like some believe in cursing or hexing and others don't, this is something that must be discussed so rules are not broken and they can still be themselves.
